Gutter Clearance and Downpipe Repairs in Hassocks

Gutter cleaning and repairs in Hassocks

We were asked to carry out the first visit of a new regular contract at a property in Hassocks. The job covered the full gutter system, so we cleaned out all the guttering and carried out repairs where they were needed. As part of the same visit, we checked the downpipes and made sure everything was flashed through properly so water could run away as it should.

What we found on arrival

The gutters had collected the usual build-up of debris over time, along with moss and grit washed down from the roof. Some sections were holding water rather than draining freely, which pointed to blockages further along the run and in the downpipes. Left alone, that sort of thing only gets worse, especially once the wetter months arrive.

Clearing the gutters and checking the flow

We worked our way around the property methodically, clearing the gutters section by section and removing the debris by hand before checking the downpipes. Once the runs were clear, we tested the water flow to confirm it was discharging correctly. Where the joints and outlets needed attention, we carried out the minor repairs so the system was watertight again.

Making sure the downpipes ran correctly

A gutter only does its job if the water has somewhere to go, so we made sure all the downpipes were flashed through and running as they should. We checked the outlets and surrounding areas as we went, clearing what we had removed and leaving the property tidy. It is straightforward work, but it is the part that prevents damp and staining further down the line.

A regular contract going forward

With the first visit complete, the customer has taken us on as a regular contract, so we will be back to keep the gutters clear and catch any small issues before they develop. Regular gutter cleaning in Hassocks is a practical way to protect a property, and it was good to get this one off to a proper start.
